Context

Percival was absent from the table again, as in session 5. He left the party another note before going, the second of the two. Its wording is unrecorded.

This session continues directly from session 5: the envelope handed to him by an accomplice in Lantern's Row, with a letter saying to meet at the abandoned chapel.

The Party

The Abandoned Chapel

Percival went to the abandoned chapel in the Low Lanterns — the district by the river where the mist sits thickest, the one he lives in as "Mr. Vale."

He was met there by a lady. She is unnamed and undescribed so far. She spoke for a group calling itself the Congregation of the Hollow Star — see organisations/the-congregation-of-the-hollow-star/the-congregation-of-the-hollow-star.md and world/lanterns-row/the-low-lanterns/the-abandoned-chapel/the-abandoned-chapel.md.

What She Offered

She wanted to help Percival be freed. She did not say freed from what, and Percival did not know what she meant. Three things stood in the space where the answer would have been: his deity, this life, and the responsibility for his city.

He got no answers. She did not explain what freedom meant, which of the three it referred to, or whether it was all of them.

The Vial

She handed him a vial that collects card dust.

Nothing else about it was explained — what card dust is, where it comes from, how the vial collects it, or what it is for once collected. This is the first time card dust appears anywhere in the campaign. See items/card-dust-vial/card-dust-vial.percival.md and cards/README.md.

• Who the lady is, and what her standing in the group is.
• What "freed" means, and which of the three — Valis, this life, the city — she was pointing at.
• Whether the Congregation knows about the deal Percival made with Valis when he died in session 2.
• What card dust is and why they want it collected. Whether Percival is expected to fill the vial, and whether he agreed to anything by taking it.
• The wording of the note he left the party, and whether anyone has asked him where he goes.
